The Payette County Emergency Management Office is dedicated to protecting the property and lives of Payette County residents. There is no warning when disasters happen and the ability to act swiftly is crucial to survival. The Payette County Emergency Management Office’s mission is to prepare and plan for emergencies in order to increase the safety of residents, animals, the environment, and property within Payette County.
PCEMO is responsible for maintaining and monitoring the Emergency Operations Center, coordinating emergency response, and facilitating multi-agency cohesiveness during disaster situations. Another important duty is the creation and coordination of the Local Emergency Planning Committee authorized by the Idaho Bureau of Homeland Security. Developing and updating the All Hazards Mitigation Plan is a priority of the Emergency Management Office in order to reduce or eliminate long-term risk to people and property from natural hazards and their effects.
Severe weather, flooding, wild fires, and other disasters can happen without warning, but increased preparedness and planning will reduce reaction times and long-term effects. It is our mission to help residents plan and prepare for disasters in Payette County in order to remain safe throughout the seasons and disasters that strike.
